Got a call from the recruiter and shared the opportunity.

Round 1: Craft Demonstration

Hard60 mins+

- Led by 4 interviewers (SE 2, Senior SWE, Staff SWE, Senior Manager)
- Given a pre-built React App to go through. Shared a doc of 6 user stories + 1 bonus story to implement on interview day.
- Testing you as a real SWE. Every interviewer observes how you navigate codebase, priorities stories, think & clarify questions, performance considerations, discuss solution approaches & only then code with unit tests as well.

Round 2: Telephonic/Video Screening

Moderate1 hr

- Led by a Staff Engineer & was a early Filtering round.
- Introduced ourselves and asked in-depth questions on my past projects at work.
- Asked to implement Promise.all & Promise.any
- React questions on Memoization techniques, Error boundaries, Unit testing..

Round 3: Hiring Manager/Culture Fit

Moderate30 mins

- Completely a behavioral and culture fit round. Asked Multiple scenario based questions.
- Even I questioned a lot about their team and good questions about him as a manager managing his team. He upfront said he was impressed with my questions.

Tip: Do your research & ask good questions, as it demonstrates your interest.

Round 4: JavaScript/Framework

Hard1 hr

- Led by 2 Interviewers (SE 2, Senior SWE)
- Asked conceptually about Virtual DOM and how it compares Old & New Trees were equal or not.
- Asked me to implement a similar version to compare if Two Virtual DOM-like trees were equal or not.

Round 5: UI Technologies

Moderate30 mins

- Asked how would I approach building a tool like Create React App.
- Asked about proud projects. Discussed on my personal project (Google Sheets) and discussed in-depth around the problem statement.
- Asked about how would I approach Unit Testing in a project.

Round 6: HR Screening/Round

Easy30 mins

Asked on my tech stack alignment and speak on past projects (high-level) to check relevance.

Final Thoughts

Intuit’s Interview Loop:

(4 Back to Back Rounds) This process is unique to Intuit with 4 rounds on same day with 30-45 mins gap.

π—©π—²π—Ώπ—±π—Άπ—°π˜: Position On Hold πŸ˜” I did good in all rounds waiting eagerly. I was confident enough. But, after multiple calls recruiter consoled me that the team was positive but budgets didn’t get approved.
